This is My Portland with The A.V. Club, The Onion & Basil Hayden's at Reverend Nat's Cidery
I read a poem by the lovely Karen Karbo all about Tyler Stevens’ (Teardrop Cocktail Lounge) cocktail crafted for the night—the Il Pallio and Sarah Mirk, of Bitch Magazine and author of Sex from Scratch, read a poem inspired by Dave Shenaut’s (Raven & Rose) cocktail—the Stone Fence. Both were super tasty and incorporated ingredients such as black walnut bitters, mint syrup, bourbon barrel aged cider, and of course Basil Hayden’s bourbon.
Max Wastler was the man of the hour and talked all things Basil Hayden’s as did David Kearns. Andrea Battleground explained the A.V. Club’s longstanding commitment to literature in an inspiring way. Anyhow, enough words—we’ll let the photos do the talking. Thanks to all who came out and made the night so fun!
