Kirkus Reviews raves about David Rocklin’s The Luminist: “An absolute spellbinder. In Victorian-era Ceylon, amidst colonial strife and natural splendor, taboo love unfolds. History, art, celebratory feminism, rapturous writing and true suspense – this is a staggeringly good book.
